WESTFORD — The following release was shared with WestfordCAT from the office of Rep. James Arciero for publication and distribution.
State Representative James Arciero and State Senator John Cronin recently announced $100,000 in state funding towards the construction of a new playground at the Nabnasset Elementary School.
The $100,000, secured in this the Fiscal Year 2024 State Budget, will go towards the design and development of a new playground for Nabnasset Elementary School at 99 Plain Road.
The development will generate a safe, clean playground for students at Nabnasset to play and partake in recreational activates.
“I am glad to have secured state funding for the Nabnasset School and for the construction of a new playground for our community’s children and students,” Representative Arciero said.
“It is vital for students of all ages to remain active, healthy and have safe settings to play and be with friends. Thank you to Speaker Ronald Mariano and House Ways and Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz for this funding for the students of Westford.”
“This community investment is vital to building a strong community that supports the development of the most important resource in Westford: our children,” Senator Cronin said. “I look forward to my continued partnership with Representative Arciero in meeting the needs of Westford.”
The funding effort follows a meeting Rep. Arciero had with Westford resident, Jamie Holmes, a member of the Nabnasset School Parent-Teacher Organization, regarding the need for a new, remodeled playground.
