WESTFORD — A routine morning call turned extraordinary for Westford firefighters on Thursday, when they arrived on scene to assist a woman in labor sooner than expected.
Early Thursday morning, members of C-Shift responded to a 911 call for a woman in labor. Upon arrival, firefighters determined that the baby “would not wait for transport to the hospital.” Instead, they assisted with the on-scene delivery, helping to welcome a healthy baby boy into the world.
The department congratulated the family and expressed pride in their firefighters’ professionalism and care.
“Be well, and stay safe,” the department wrote in a social media post, celebrating the newborn and acknowledging the team’s dedication.
