The revitalized Westford Jr. Ghosts D Team Cheer squad advanced from league competition to the Pop Warner Cheer Regional Championship, which will be held in Lowell on Oct. 29.
The Westford Unlimited Jr. Ghosts lost to Malden Sunday, 38-6. Sean Brown scored Westford's lone touchdown. Luke Wauford had some tough runs and Colin Reynolds caught a long pass.
In their 2nd game of the year, the Squirt AAA Grizzlies skated hard but came up a bit short against a fast and determined SMS team, logging a 5-2 loss. Nashoba Goalie, Tyler Santosuosso was able to stop 14 of the 15 shots on goal to end the 1st period with SMS on top, 1-0. SMS scored in the first minute of the 2nd, answered by Nashoba's Jack Parradee who beat the SMS Goalie as the defense converged on him.
