SUMMARY:Fódhla (Celtic Trio)
DESCRIPTION:Fódhla brings both high energy and stellar artistry to the traditional music stage. The trio’s sound is firmly rooted in the traditional Irish melodies and ornamentation that fiddler Ellery Klein and flute player Nicole Rabata honed during years spent abroad in Ireland’s cities Cork\, Limerick and Ennis. Fiddle and flute tunes are superbly supported by guitarist Bethany Waickman\, whose inventive\, tasteful chords unfold with driving rhythm perfected from years of playing for contradances. Cognizant of their North American roots\, Fódhla aims to appeal to a broad audience by bringing variety\, inventive harmonies and unique arrangements to traditional music. A typical concert starts off with high-energy traditional sets of Irish reels and jigs\, includes trade melody and harmonies and a joyful and toe-tapping pair of barn dances soaring out on a high note. Finally\, the soft notes of guitar bring in a melancholy\, exquisite slow air – music that brings out audible sighs from a rapt audience. \nCabaret Seating. BYOB & Snacks. Feel free to dance in the Gallery.

SUMMARY:Westford REV 250: Col. John Robinson's Regiment during the Siege of Boston
DESCRIPTION:Local histories have often overlooked Westford’s Col Robinson’s military career\, but the discovery of the regiment’s orderly book in 2003 shed light on his contributions during the latter part of the siege and those of 14 other Westford men. Dan Lacroix\, a scholar of 18th-century Westford history\, will explore the siege’s progress and how the orderly book provides insight into the experiences of local men who served during that time.

SUMMARY:Kemp Harris with Adam Osgood
DESCRIPTION:Kemp Harris defies categorization. He is a singer and songwriter\, a master weaver of American musical styles. He’s an actor\, activist\, author\, and storyteller\, and an award-winning educator who has taught young public school students for more than 40 years. He began writing songs at 14 and recording them in college\, using a pair of old cassette players to track parts\, and has been delighting music lovers ever since with his earthy\, soulful creations. Kemp honed his powerful\, intimate performance style in Cambridge’s coffeehouses\, developing into a magnetic frontman who has shared stages with artists such as Koko Taylor\, Livingston Taylor\, Gil Scott-Heron\, Kandace Springs and Taj Mahal. He has composed original music for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Complexions Contemporary Ballet\, established a songwriting residency at Boston’s Wang Theater\, and recently delivered a series of master classes at Berklee College of Music on the subject of Artists as Activists. Everything Kemp makes is built on a foundation of social awareness and the desire to reflect the world as he sees and experiences it. Whether he’s performing a rousing soul tune backed by a 14-piece orchestra in a grand concert hall or a hushed meditation alone at his piano\, Kemp speaks truth the only way he knows how: by baring his soul. \nCabaret Seating.
