Best known for operating the Westford Farmers’ Market, Sustainable Westford has announced it will be sponsoring a team in a charity bicycle race this fall, and it is looking for help.

Team We-Cycle, the Westford Farmers’ Market’s bike team, will participate in the 3rd Annual River Ride Bike-A-Thon and Family Fun Ride.

Organized by the Greater Lowell Community Foundation, the event currently has nearly a dozen teams throughout the Merrimack Valley, is geared toward helping local area non-profit groups.

It will take place at 9 a.m. on September 27 at the First Church of the Nazarene on 1196 Varnum Ave. in Lowell.

More information on the effort can be obtained by visiting Team Captain Kevin Schiavone each week at the Farmers’ Market, as well as on pages at the Sustainable Westford website and the Greater Lowell Community Foundation website.
