Earlier this month the Town of Westford announced a rebate it is getting for insurance rates, a rebate that will also go to the Nashoba Valley Technical High School District.

Nashoba Tech announced recently that it will be getting back $1,442 in credits on its insurance, applied to the next fiscal year, thanks to voluntary participation in loss-prevention and risk-management activities offered by the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association.

MIIA offers no-cost training and educational courses as a benefit to help its members reduce their risks and insurance premiums.

“As with any municipality, it’s our responsibility to look for ways to help the taxpayer and save the taxpayer money,” Nashoba Tech Superintendent Dr. Judith L. Klimkiewicz said.

The program provided more than 230 towns, cities, school districts, water districts and other entities over $20 million in lowered insurance rates across the Commonwealth

“MIIA partners with its members to develop innovative programs that help mitigate risk, lower insurance costs and reduce impacts on taxpayers,” said MIIA Executive Vice President Stanley Corcoran. “We congratulate our member communities that have taken action and reaped the rewards of risk management activities.”
