The last major component of Cornerstone Square is now occupied as Lowell General Hospital’s Circle Health Westford facility is now opening its doors.
Equipment and finishing touches were still coming in after the final weekend of August ribbon cutting event that featured various dignitaries; a ceremony marked an end to an eight month journey that prepared the facility for its upcoming opening to the public.
In addition to family practice and obstetricians on site, the facility also hosts urgent care services for patients who require immediate attention for non-life threatening issues.

According to Lowell General Hospital spokesperson Angela Strunk, the hospital currently serves approximately 30 percent of Westford’s healthcare market, a figure LGH hopes to not only maintain, but grow, with the new facility.
“We are always looking for ways to provide better service to Westford,” said Strunk. “With such a great location like this right off (495), it only made sense to come here.”
Approximately 25 employees will be on site when the first patients start coming in on Monday, but more are expected, with several pediatricians from Boston’s Floating Hospital for Children also coming in a rotating basis.
More information on the facility is available at the Circle Health website.
