School is back in session, and that means several of the renowned programs at Nashoba Tech are open again as well.
The Elegant Chef, an restaurant open to the public that is staffed by culinary students at the school, has a new fixed menu, with Chef-Instructors Steve Whiting, Fran Zentgraf, Kevin McGuire and Carley Engle sharing some old favorites along with original recipes.
This year, the restaurant will also have a more consistent mention featuring appetizers that use herbs from the school’s own garden, with flatbread appetizers free during the month of September.
“There’s more consistency,” said Whiting. “The students will have to sharpen their preparation skills.”
Whiting believes that the stabilized menu will give students a better chance to see what it’s like to work in the industry, where most menus are fixed.
Area residents can also get service at Cosmo Cuts, Nashoba Valley’s in-school hair and nail salon run by cosmetology students and instructors.
Haircuts start at $6, with manicures, makeup, facials and more options available at request.
