The following information was provided by the Westford Police Department.Â
March 30, 8:31 p.m. – A suspicious individual was reported on Powers Road, with the caller saying it appeared he was attempting to break into buildings.
Police caught up with the individual near Nashoba Valley Ski Area. He said he had walked into some nearby woods in order to urinate and denied being near any buildings.
A search of his nearby vehicle yielded nothing of a suspicious nature.
The man told police that he worked at Nashoba Valley Ski Area at one point in the past, but further information was not available.
March 31, 12:46 p.m. – There was a call to police regarding a white van near the Cumberland Farms at Minot’s Corner.
According to the caller, the van cut off a motorcycle and three other vehicles along Boston Road, pulling into the Cumberland Farms after exiting from I-495 Northbound.
An officer arrived on the scene to find the van’s driving behind the wheel in the parking lot of the Cumberland Farms as the engine idled.
The driver appeared to be shaking and sweating as the officer asked what happened.
He replied with an apology to the officer and pointed to Boston Road, saying he did not speak much English.
It was discovered that the driver has lived in the United States for twelve years.
The officer then discovered that the van’s registration had not been renewed for several years and the driver then wrote his name and date of birth on the back of the most recent registration form in the vehicle.
This van was registered to a construction company; the driver did not have an explanation as to why he was driving.
He was issued a citation and the van was towed.
April 4, 2:12 p.m. – A man contacted police after he received a message indicating that he had already filed his taxes.
During the past year, he noted that he was a victim of security breaches at TJ Maxx, Target and Home Depot and was afraid this could be connected.
Officers provided him additional information from the Federal Trade Commission on how to deal with the problem.
April 5, 6:57 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to Macquarrie Lane after complaints of a resident not cleaning up their dog’s feces.
When found, the resident explained that she did pick up after her dog and showed a bag as evidence, claiming that the neighbor has issues.
The officer went back to the person that initially called explaining the situation and noting that there are other residents that are less considerate and they would keep an eye out in the area.
