Internet Privacy for Tablets and Smartphones with Alison Macrina: Thursday, October 1 at 7:00 PM at the J.V. Fletcher Library, 50 Main St., Westford. When it comes to privacy on the Internet, smartphones and tablets are particularly at risk. Alison Macrina, a librarian and privacy activist will present an “online privacy toolkit” that helps subvert digital spying. These tools address encryption, password protection, secure browsing and more. Drop-in. For ages 13 and up. This program is generously funded by the Friends of the Library.
3-D Design and Printing Workshop: Thursday, October 15 at 6 PM at the J.V. Fletcher Library, 50 Main St., Westford. Participants will learn about 3-D design and create a keychain(in 3 dimensions) to take home. Registration begins in Information Services, 978-399-2304, on Monday, October 5. For ages 16 and up. Pastel Paint Like the Masters: Sublime Sunflowers with Greg Maichack: Saturday, October 24 at 2:00 PM at the J.V. Fletcher Library, 50 Main St., Westford.. In this two-hour workshop, Maichak demonstrates how beginners to accomplished artists can paint using the techniques of Vincent Van Gogh. Everyone will go home with their finished version of “Sunflowers”. All materials are provided. FREE! Limited to 30. Ages 16 and up.
