Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ) people exist in every nation, belief system, and ethnicity. But they do not exist within the discussions and teachings of our nation’s classrooms. History UnErased (HUE) is working to change that. Led by co-founders Debra Fowler and Miriam Morgenstern, both veteran teachers, HUE’s mission is to educate every child on the critical role of LGBTQ history and people throughout the world, in order to bring about equality in our classrooms, culture, and collective consciousness. HUE provides groundbreaking training and resources for K-12 schools and community organizations in order to impact and empower youth – especially at-risk youth of color – as the engage with reflections of themselves in the evolving, collective narrative. The end result? Safer and more equitable classrooms and communities throughout the world.

Join the Westford Parent Connection as we host Debra Fowler and Miriam Morgenstern as they present What Is LGBTQ Inclusive Curricular And How Does It Keep All Kids Safe? on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 (snow date Wednesday, February 24) at 7:00 p.m. at the Stony Brook Middle School, 9 Farmer Way, Westford. Learn how LGBTQ history is a study of social movements, events, and individuals who are an integral part of the development of our nation and national identity. LGBTQ history reveals the social construction of a marginalized group that has significantly contributed to other social movements. Presenting LGBTQ history in our classrooms is granting our children a more honest history, which is important for all students.
