James Crocker and John Tuomi were praised Jan. 10 by Westford selectmen for their quick actions in saving a man’s life.

The two friends were at a Patriots game in Foxboro on Dec. 24 when they noticed an unconscious man a few rows in front of them.

Crocker is a Westford resident and a lieutenant for the Groton Fire Department. Tuomi is a Westford firefighter who lives in West Townsend.

The two spotted the man’s adult son trying to arouse his father who was not moving. The off-duty public safety officials rushed into action by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using a defibrillator.

An ambulance crew rushed the man to a local hospital.

According to Tuomi, the man stayed in the hospital a few days and then was released.
