As an antidote to recent tragic events in the news, everyday people are urged to learn what to do in an emergency.
The Upper Merrimack Valley Medical Reserve Corps is offering the first classroom version in Massachusetts of a brand-new federal course, “You Are The Help… Until Help Arrives.’
The class takes place on Thursday, June 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Trinity EMS Training Center, 10 Jean Avenue in Chelmsford (near the Drum Hill Rotary). The class is free, but participants must pre-register by Tuesday, June 27.
For more information residents are asked to visit Ready.Gov/UntilHelpArrives. The site offers an interactive video for children, a 25-minute online course for adults, and materials for the classroom course. The five key actions that anyone can perform to save a life are presented in the video.
Email nburns@westfordma.gov to sign up for the course.
