Planning Board members unanimously approved on Jan. 22 an amendment of a traffic monitoring agreement with Richard DeFelice, principal of Newport Materials at 540 Groton Road.

The agreement involved a temporary video monitoring system with MDM Transportation Consultants of Marlborough that has been costing Newport about $10,000 per month while DeFelice awaits the installation of a Smart Grid Monitoring System.
Planning Board members agreed to relieve DeFelice of the $6,500 fee involved in shipping the video to a Canadian company where the results are transmitted to hard copy.
