The following statement was jointly released on Feb. 22 by Superintendent Everett V. Olsen and President of the Westford Education Association Mary McCusker.
Editor’s Note: The Westford Education Association ratified the 2017-20 contract on Feb. 15. It will go before the School Committee for approval on Feb. 26.
“We are very pleased that the diligence and commitment of both the Westford Education Association and the Westford School Committee have resulted in a collective bargaining agreement that will serve the interests of our teachers, our students, our schools, and our community. We advocated for equitable teacher pay through an override initiative last year, and are pleased that the Association and School Committee were able to reach agreement through a thoughtful and collaborative process that was respectful of all parties’ interests.”
