WestfordCAT volunteer Cheryl A. Major’s “Thin, Strong, Healthy” video was honored this month with a first prize award from the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region.

The award was recognized in the category of Science, Health and Spirituality for her show entitled “Gluten…Evil or Not?” She shares it with Stephen Edwards who directed and edited the video, and Rob Frado who did the camera work.

“I am so excited to receive this award,” she stated. “I’m grateful to WestfordCat for this ongoing opportunity. Sharing my teaching on various aspects of health and well-being through my TV show, Thin Strong Healthy and my weekly articles in westfordcat.org/news/brings this information to those who wish to understand this topic.”

Major offers more information at her website: http://ThinStrongHealthy.com.

At age 28, Major discovered she was severely hypoglycemic so she adjusted and changed her diet.

This led her to remove all processed foods, gluten and preservatives from her diet. An unexpected result of these changes was a significant drop in weight, she said, as well as a release from a long struggle with depression.

Major is writing a book about her escape from anti-depressants using food as her medicine. The working title is “Eat Your Blues Away”.
