WESTFORD — Nicolau, a 13-year-old male Domestic Shorthair is this week’s Adoptable Pet of the Week.
Nicolau is a hospice cat with cancer in his jaw and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
“It’s basically the feline version of AIDS, not the same as humans but it can be transmitted in cats through blood or feces,” Matthew, a volunteer with the Lowell Humane Society told WestfordCAT.
Nicolau is on a urinary tract diet to maintain a healthy bladder.
“He seems spunky and seems like he has a little bit of life left in him. He probably won’t make it more than two or three years, to be honest,” he said.
