The Department of Public Works has installed 16 vulnerable road user signs. These signs remind motorists that state law requires at least four feet to pass an individual operating a bicycle, scooter, horse, or tractor, among others. These signs, provided by the state Department of Transportation, have been installed along roads entering Westford.
Back by popular demand, the Westford Historic House Tour will be held on Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $50. Read more about the tour online.
National Wreaths Across America Day is Dec. 16 at noon. Residents who want to sponsor a wreath should do so online.

From the Sustainability Department:
The Select Board unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding between Bootstrap Compost and the Town of Westford during a Nov. 14 meeting. The MOU allows residents to receive discounted services from the company.
Residents can purchase weekly service for $6 per week or biweekly service for $8 every other week. If Bootstrap compost receives 120 or more sign-ups, these rates will decrease to $5 a week for weekly pick-up and $7 for biweekly pick-up.
The discount is effective as of Dec. 1 and will remain effective through Nov. 30, 2024.

From the Recreation Department:
The Recreation Department is offering special programs for students in kindergarten through 8th grade from Dec. 26 to Dec. 29. Families can sign up online.
From the Health Department and Community Wellness Department:
The Health Department is accepting applications for residents to receive $400 per child for the Recreation Department’s after-school program, which began on Aug. 30.
Applications should be emailed to Regional Community Health and Wellness Coordinator Brittany Nash. Applications can also be mailed to Town Hall. Applicants must be Westford residents at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level.
Community Wellness Assistance is now available for drop-in hours. The Community Wellness Coordinator will be available on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the J.V. Fletcher Library.

The Health Department still has free COVID tests available. Stop by the department on the second floor in Town Hall to pick one up.

The Knights Football and Cheer – which covers Westford, Littleton, Acton and Boxborough has programs for students between kindergarten and 8th grade. Early Bird registration will open in January for the team’s July program.

FY25 budget discussions have begun. The School Committee will continue their discussion on Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. The Select Board will continue their discussion on Dec. 26 at 7 p.m.

The Board of Assessors will meet on Dec. 15 at 9 a.m.
The Board of Cemetery Commissioners will meet virtually on Dec. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
The Board of Water Commissioners will meet on Dec. 14 at 9 a.m.
The MBTA Communities Multi-Family Housing Advisory Committee will meet on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. A virtual option will be available.
The North Central Climate Change Coalition will meet virtually on Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
