WESTFORD — Westford could see heavy snowfall this week as a winter storm system is expected to dump over six inches of snow on the region.

A warning is issued on Sunday evening and is in effect through 1 a.m. on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service predicts that a majority of the state, including Westford and the surrounding region, could see between eight and 12 inches of snowfall. Snowfall is predicted to begin ahead of the Tuesday morning commute.

Travel delays are possible on Tuesday.
