WESTFORD — The Select Board reviewed a request to approve a Common Victualler License for the new owners of Mario’s Breakfast and Lunch, soon to be renamed ‘JJ’s Place.’

Partners Josh Johnson and Jennifer White attended the Select Board meeting to discuss the license that would allow them to continue to sell food and drinks at their establishment.

“We’re looking to take over Mario’s in Westford, we’ve both worked there for many years,” White said during a Sept. 10 meeting.

White formerly owned a diner before working at Mario’s and Johnson has worked at Mario’s for approximately 11 years.

“I’ve been working at Mario’s for 11 years and managing it for the last year and a half and we decided that we were ready to take the next step and take over as JJ’s Place,” Johnson said.

The board unanimously approved the request for the Common Victualler License 4-0, Scott Hazleton was absent for the meeting.
