Update March 21 at 3:40 p.m.: Police report that Hammersley was found dead at approximately 1:05 p.m. in the water of Forge Pond near the Groton Line by a member of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council search team. See here. 

Update 11:10 p.m.: The search has been suspended and will resume Friday morning. 

WESTFORD — State and local police are searching for a missing Nashua woman in the area of Forge Village.

The Westford Police Department announced the search for 73 year old Margaret Hammersley, Nashua on Thursday night.

She was reported missing Thursday morning in Nashua, with her vehicle located unoccupied in a parking lot along Pleasant Street, according to authorities.

She is approximately 5′ 3″ with blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket with a dark-colored shirt underneath.

Police said she is known to wear glasses, does not have her phone on her and has no known connection to Forge Village or the Westford area.
