Westford Hosts First “Tea with the Town Manager”

Residents gathered at the Roudenbush Community Center on September 25, 2025, for the first-ever Tea with the Town Manager event hosted by Town Manager Kristen Las.

This event was intended to be informal with no set agenda and was designed to give residents an open forum to ask questions and hear updates directly from town leadership. The discussion topics ranged widely, including the town’s budget, the ongoing Boston Road reconstruction, trail improvements, the future of the fire station, the ongoing J. V. Library construction project, the MBTA zoning proposal for 37 Powers Road, changes to town office hours, and upgrades to the town’s IT systems and website.

In response to the status of the ongoing Boston Road reconstruction, Las said that it’s a state project started this spring. Right now, the work is primarily focused on upgrading the stormwater utilities underground. The focus for next spring will be on the enhancement of sidewalks and roadways, the project that could go on for another year.

Las said that the goal of this event series is to engage our community and keep communication open and accessible. “This event is important for me, as it is a casual way for residents to connect with me and raise whatever is on their minds,” she noted.

In the meantime, the updates and events of the Town of Westford are accessible via multiple social media outlets, including LinkedIn, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and BlueSky, Las stated. Tea with the Town Manager was first announced in Las’s September newsletter and marks the start of what may become a recurring community engagement initiative.
