Director’s Corner: We are so thankful for our dedicated staff, the elected Board of Library Trustees, the Friends of the Library, the Friends’ Foundation, and the Westford community for all their on-going library support. We look forward to an exciting transformative future library and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
Holiday Closure: The Library will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26 (Thanksgiving Eve) and will be closed for Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 27 through Friday, November 28. The Library will re-open on Saturday, November 29 from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Adult Nonfiction Book Club: Tuesday, December 2 at 6:30 p.m. We’ll meet in person at 515 Groton Road to discuss The Splendid and the Vile: A Saga of Churchill, Family, and Defiance During the Blitz, by Erik Larson. Virtual Job Search Help for 50 & OVER – Second Act Careers (“Thinking Outside the Box”): Wednesday, December 3, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Group meets on biweekly the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career”, this networking group program is perfect for you! Goat Sip n’ Snuggle for Adults: Thursday, December 11, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Join us in the barn at Good Pickin’ Farm, 5 Gould Rd in Westford, to relax and de-stress from the holidays with some friendly goats! A hot cocoa bar will make it extra cozy and help reinvigorate your holiday spirit. This program is intended for adults only. Registration is required. Participants must also fill out the farm’s waiver prior to the event.

This will be a baby-centered program (ages 0-2) focusing on songs, rhymes, bounces, movement activities, and stories! No Registration Required
Time with Tots: Every Thursday through December 18, 11:00—11:30 a.m. Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor 65 Main St. Join Miss Hannah and Miss Jenn for Time with Tots, centered around children ages 3 and up. We will be reading stories, doing silly dances, singing songs, and having lots of fun! No Registration Required
Mother Goose: Every Tuesday, through December 16, 10:30—11:15 a.m.
Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor 65 Main St. Join Miss Jenn and Miss Hannah for Mother Goose, an interactive story time for children ages 0 and up with their caregivers. We include books, songs, interaction with puppets, fun movements, and of course, dancing! No Registration Required.
Kids and Young Adult Books Clubs – Check out our monthly book clubs for kids in kindergarten through 4th grade and YA book clubs for tweens in grades 5 through 8th.
YA Snacks & Ladders: Tuesday, December 9, 4:30-5:30 p.m., Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor, 65 Main Street. For grades 5-12. Come play some board games & eat some snacks! Registration is required.
Read with Ponies at Good Pickin’ Farm: Wednesday, December 10 at Good Pickin’ Farm 5 Gould Rd, Westford, MA
What’s better than taking some time to relax and read? When that time is spent with a pony! We welcome you to join us at Good Pickin’ Farm where you will be able to read to a pony! Each child who signs up will get 15 minutes solo to read with a pony.
There are six 15-minute spots available in this session beginning at 3:30 p.m. The program is limited to kids aged 6-9. Children may bring their own book from home or choose to read one from the library collection. Please arrive at the barn 5-10 minutes before your session begins.
Stuffy Sleepover: Thursday, December 11, 515 Groton Rd. Bring your stuffies over to the Children’s room and let them roam the library overnight! Drop-off will be from 2- 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13. Drop off your stuffies and don’t forget to make them a nametag while you’re here! There will be lots of fun adventures in store for them, as well as a dance party! We’ll make sure to tuck them in for a good night’s sleep afterward. Pictures of their shenanigans will be posted on Instagram, @jvfletcherkids. Stuffies may be picked back up on Friday, December 12, starting at 1:00 p.m. No registration required.
Strega Mama – Frozen Storytime: Wednesday, December 17th 4:00 PM Roudenbush Community Center, Room 105 65 Main St, Westford
Do you want to build a snowman? Join us at the Roudenbush Community Center for an icy storytime with Strega Mama. The cold never bothered us anyway, but it surely won’t while she reads us the fun story of Frozen. Registration is required. Questions? Email us at youthservices@westfordma.gov
