WestfordCAT’s Executive Director Sarah Fletcher spent most of Monday at a panel discussion on Sustainability for Community Media – What’s At Stake.
Representatives from towns throughout New England and New York attended the all day conference, held at the Hotel Northhampton and hosted by the Alliance for Community Media Northeast Region.
Fletcher, who is a member of the alliance, explained that events like this are great for members to share ideas, learn what’s happening with legislation, discuss various funding opportunities, networking and more. Several workshops were available throughout the day.
“It a chance to put a finger on the pulse of other stations in the region,” explained Fletcher. In addition to WestfordCAT’s online weekly newspaper, WestfordCAT provides daily online updates as well as dedicated television channels for Government, Education, and Community programming.
Westford’s State Representative James Arciero and State Senator John Cronin who covers Middlesex County have already pledged support for (H-91) the Massachusetts Streaming Bill.
