You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes.
It is you and me, Westford. There is truly nothing like this. We made it to February. Now you are probably like, “Why on earth did she open the article with that weird and cryptic phrase?” Well, for one, I always open my articles with lyrics from T.S., in case any of you have not picked up on that quite yet. And two, I have some fun things to dish out regarding games and prizes in this edition.
Let us get the tape rolling so we can skip to the good part, shall we?
As I have mentioned endless times before, and as the three-year-old boy I nanny religiously says, “Lindsey, can you be quiet?” (Okay, to be fair, I spend half my time serenading him with Taylor Swift lyrics at an unappetizing volume. BUT I’m hip, I get it. The boy wants to play with his train set to Peppa Pig as background noise, not my mediocre singing.) But this column is where I dish out the hot topics and events trending around town and beyond. Hi, and welcome to my new readers. If there is ever something you would like to see covered, email me at lhanrahan@westfordcat.org. Fair warning, I consider the new weight rack at Planet Fitness a major headline.
As the new year progresses, WestfordCAT has found itself looking for new ways to fundraise, gain support, bring in more members, and overall raise awareness of the wonders of what we do in the studio. We are well aware that we would not be where we are right now without the support of our community, but we need more of it, which is why we decided to do a pretty massive raffle.
We will be raffling off an electric bike. The Aventon e-bike was described as an aspirational purchase that was only used a few times. It was generously donated to WestfordCAT by one of our podcasters. It was purchased on 11/29/24 and has been sitting idle, waiting for the right rider to come along and claim it. It has a removable battery and charger, and a value of 2,299 dollars. The bike was purchased on Black Friday in 2024 for 2,014 dollars. The original receipt is included with the manual.
Win the ultimate urban workhorse, an Aventon cargo e-bike designed to replace short car trips, carry heavy loads, and make city life simpler. This raffle prize is perfect for families running errands, small business owners doing local deliveries, or commuters who want a comfortable, eco-friendly alternative to driving.
Now, this is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. I was in the back room, admiring this beautiful purple bike with my fellow WCAT employees. George, our newest member of the WCAT team, threw down some serious facts, stating, “The people want this.” This could not be more accurate. For 10 dollars a raffle ticket, you too could have a shot at taking this beauty home, with all proceeds going to WCAT and our nonstop efforts to bring the community local media. We wanted to up the ante and have some fun as spring very slowly approaches us again. The drawing will be held on the morning of the Apple Blossom Parade.
Now get up, run to your neighbors, friends, sisters, brothers, cats, goldfish, heck, tell your mailmen/women that WCAT has won the raffle game.
And may the odds be ever in your favor. Until next time.
