WESTFORD — A person was hospitalized Tuesday evening following a two-car crash at the intersection of Groton Road and Oak Hill Road.

The Westford Police and Fire Department responded to the crash shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

WestfordCAT was at the scene of the crash and saw a damaged red minivan and dark gray SUV, with both vehicles’ airbags deployed. An ambulance was also at the scene, with EMTs lifting one of the people involved onto a stretcher.

Public safety dispatchers told WestfordCAT that it is common practice to call an ambulance for  rashes when airbags are deployed.

In order to assist with the crash, police shut down Oak Hill Road between Groton Road and Forrest Road for about an hour.

Officers at the scene redirected traffic around the crash, until the road was reopened later Tuesday evening.

The extent of the person’s injuries are unknown and the cause of the crash is unclear and remains under investigation.
