As we come to the end of a week here in Westford, I think it is safe to say that we were all a little flabbergasted by the complete turnaround in this weather. Tuesday (March 10) reached a high of 76 degrees. Now I do not want to alarm anyone. Still, I did immediately text my sister group chat, which was elegantly named “Y’all Look Familiar” by yours truly, and let the girls know that summer was about to make a comeback.
As I have mentioned infinite times before, this column is where I dish out the hot topics, things I deem important (hehe), and events trending around town and beyond. Hi, and welcome to my new readers. If there is ever something you would like to see covered, email me at lhanrahan@westfordcat.org. (Sidenote. I do not share my email to be polite. I am a professional talker. PLEASE send me your thoughts, opinions, and ideas. I would love to hear them.) Fair warning. I consider Selena Gomez kissing her husband’s very visibly dirty feet (ick) on his podcast a major headline.
I hope you all got to enjoy the beautiful fresh air and sunshine in your own ways. I met up with friends at the WA track, where we managed to gossip while the streams of melting snow kicked back and pelted the backs of our soon to be very tan ankles.
Now, I am not sure how all of you feel, but spring is so inviting. It makes me want to reset, renew, and refresh. Naturally, I started this process by spending my money at Marshalls and Barnes and Noble. Pause before you get your adult wisdom all in a twist. I did buy books that expand your mind, so HA. And the Marshalls purchase was a cheetah-shaped candle to light the room when I read, so I stand by the decision.
I am going to virtually hold your hands while I share this information.
I know I have been showing up here every week with my amazing updates, trials, and tribulations while writing this column, but next week I will take a brief pause. I’m making a quick trip across the pond to Galway, Ireland, to watch my father and some of his close friends march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. I also hope to unleash some information about the Hanrahan name!
Before anyone is wildly confused, my father and his friends are all police officers. My father, who happens to be the Chief of Police in Watertown, MA, was invited by one of his officers who is from the area. Yes, my father was called to respond during the Boston Marathon Bombing. No, he was not the chief at the time. Yes, I am proud every single day that I am his daughter.
Now this only means one thing. I will have an influx of content for you when I get back.
I hope you all enjoy a quiet and peaceful week without me. I will soon be boarding Aer Lingus with AirPod Maxes queued up with hours of Taylor Swift and a murder mystery novel in hand.
P.S. I want to see that EBike raffle reach at least $600 when I return . . . .
Slán go fóill!
