Oriental Bittersweet Control Event

September 8, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free

Oriental bittersweet is threatening the biodiversity of our ecosystem but it’s not too late to help out! This invasive vine grows rapidly, girdling native trees and shrubs, causing structural damage and outcompeting them for vital nutrients and sunlight. Help prevent the spread of oriental bittersweet by joining us to remove it on the Acker Conservation Land located next to Stony Brook on September 8, from 2PM-4PM. Volunteers should park by the trees on the dirt road leading to Stony Brook Conservation Land and meet at the Stony Acres parking lot. Everyone is welcome! Please bring hand pruners and dress appropriately for poison ivy and ticks. Every volunteer counts and we appreciate all efforts to make our environment a better place. For those interested, please visit https://forms.gle/8mQrmRUTz4nWJC3V9 to sign up!
