The bullet that shot straight through Jody Marchand’s jaw and lodged forever in her shoulder didn’t happen at the hands of a stranger. No. the bullet that shot point blank at Jody’s and Olivia’s heads, killing her 17 year-old daughter, Olivia, took place at the hands of her husband Brian, who then turned the gun on himself, according to police.
Jody, the only survivor, was critically wounded.
Olivia, (known as “Liv”) was her only child.
Marchand tells the story of why it happened and how she could have prevented it to ‘Main Street’ host Joyce Pellino Crane.
In this interview, Marchand tells viewers that her mission is to keep Olivia’s name alive.
“I’ll talk about it to whoever will listen,” Marchand said of her life story and the anger that brought her and her husband to the tragic loss.
“Never will I get over this for the rest of my life,” she said.
October is domestic violence awareness month. Marchand and her board members are asking regional restaurants to run fundraisers to help Live for Liv accomplish the goal of buying a multi-family house for spouses who are dealing with domestic violence in their homes.
