Edward Cohen, Westford Resident

It is time for people who are against increased taxes in Westford to get off the couch and attend the town meeting on March 23rd.

There is a Proposition 2 1/2 override proposal that will be voted on. If this override is not defeated, your real estate tax will go up a large amount. The override is for not 1, not 2, but for 3 years, that’s 3 years.

There is no compassion in Westford. The people who want the override do not care one bit about the people who are on a fixed income, those who work full time but make a low salary, or for those who have to work more than one job to eke out a living.

Do not be scared by claims that if the override is defeated, we will have drastic cuts in town services and a lot of layoffs of town personnel, including the police department and the fire department. These are just scare tactics. Don’t fall for these tactics. Stand up and attend the town meeting and vote down this terrible override situation Thank you for your time.
