WESTFORD — A new sports outlet is coming to Westford Valley Marketplace.
The Planning Board unanimously approved a request to authorize a change of use for a unit at 160 Littleton Rd. on Aug. 19. The unit, which will be occupied by regional chain Marathon Sports, was previously occupied by Compassion Massage.
“We would like to open Marathon Sports, a retail sporting goods store where they will provide a gait analysis to help people to the right shoes and insoles for their foot type, whether it be walking or running or any type of moving your body,” Dianna Chivakos, a representative of the company told the Planning Board.
Traffic in the plaza is not anticipated to change, as the business retains similar hours to the former occupant.
“Based on the hours we do not anticipate any traffic issues,” Town Planner Joseph Ginewicz said.
The store has not announced an opening date. Planned operating hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
