WESTFORD — There will be an overnight closure and detour at Littleton Road in the first week of June.
There will be an overnight detour for westbound traffic on Littleton Road beginning June 1 through June 5 as part of ongoing sewer infrastructure work near the Littleton town line.
Traffic will be detoured nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The road will be closed just beyond 439 Littleton Road, and traffic will be redirected via Concord Road toward Beaver Brook Road.
The roadway will be closed at the start of construction each night, and the detour will go into effect at this time. The road is expected to open back up at 5 a.m. However, the schedule may vary depending on the working conditions.
Additional overnight detours are expected to continue periodically in the coming weeks as part of a longer-term infrastructure Improvement project in the area.
Emergency vehicles will still have full access throughout the closure there will be no disruption to emergency response services. Businesses located between the Concord Road intersection and the Littleton Town line will remain open throughout the detour period.
Westford and Littleton Police will be on-site to assist with traffic control and to ensure safe and smooth access to local destinations during detour times.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and reduce speed on detour routes.
