Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell’s latest homes (two 3-bedroom/2 bath homes and one 4-bedroom/2 bath home) will be sold through affordable mortgages to a households earning no more than 80% of the area median income. Each Habitat partner family will need to provide at least 250 hours of “sweat equity,” or physical labor, toward the construction of their own home, other Habitat family homes, and special projects. These homes will be sold to first-time, qualified homebuyers, and two of the three homes will be offered with a “local preference” for families who already live, work, or have children in Concord schools. Qualifying applicants will be entered into a lottery.

“Our Habitat affiliate is excited to select three partner families at once through this upcoming family selection process. Because affordable housing is an urgent need in Massachusetts, we are working hard to increase the number of homes we build each year. This project is made possible through our partnership with the Town of Concord, which generously donated the land and critical funding. We look forward to welcoming three new families into partnership with Habitat and three new homeowners to the Town of Concord.” —Sheilagh Carlisle, Executive Director
