The town has launched a new curbside mattress and box spring collection service for residents in partnership with UTEC, Inc. This local nonprofit provides job training and employment opportunities for at-risk youth.

The biweekly service offers an environmentally friendly and convenient way to recycle mattresses and box springs. For $40 per unit, with pickups scheduled on Tuesdays, residents can schedule a collection through UTEC’s mattress recycling page. Once on the website, residents select Westford, choose a pickup date, and submit payment online. Items should be placed curbside on the scheduled day.

Town officials said the program supports Westford’s Pay-As-You-Throw and broader waste reduction efforts while keeping disposal costs manageable.
