Adult Programs
Adult Nonfiction Book Club: Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. (postponed from 3/3) We’ll discuss The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World, by William Dalrymple. VIRTUAL: John Singer Sargent — A Masterful Stroke Of Genius: Thursday, March 12th, 2:00 p.m. Learn how the gifted artist John Singer Sargent began a promising career, primarily as a portrait painter in Paris, until a scandal in 1884 caused him to decamp France and move to England where he contemplated giving up portrait painting, until he found his way once again, becoming internationally famous during the Gilded Age art world of the late 1880’s, running through the first quarter of the 20th century. Led by artist Neill Slaughter, Professor Emeritus at Long Island University. He has taught fine arts courses at the university level as well as exhibited his drawings and paintings nationally and internationally for more than forty years. Register here. Virtual Job Search Help for 50 & OVER – Using AI (Your Job Search Co-Pilot), Wednesday, March 18, 9:30-11:30 a.m. The Massachusetts Library Collaborative’s 50+ Job Seekers Group meets biweekly on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., via Zoom. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your “Encore Career”, this networking group program is perfect for you! 5th-8th Grade Book Club: Monday, March 2, 4:00-5:00 p.m., 515 Groton Rd, 2nd floor. Join us for a lively discussion, snacks, and a fun activity! At this meeting, we’ll be discussing The Wrecker by Carl Hiaasen. Registration is required.
Young Adult Advisory Board: Wednesday, March 11, at 6:30-7:30 p.m., Temporary Location, 515 Groton Rd. For grades 5-12. Are you a teen who would like to help make decisions about what goes on at the library? Join YAAB and have your say in programming, community outreach, book purchasing suggestions, decor, and more! Stuffie Sleepover: Thursday, March 12, 2:00-4:30,p.m. 515 Groton Rd.
Bring your stuffies over to the Children’s Room and let them roam the library overnight! Drop-off will be from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12th. You can pick them up on Friday, March 13th, starting at 1:00 p.m.
Dungeons & Dragons: Thursday, March 12, 4-5:30 p.m., 515 Groton Rd. For grades 5-12. All experience levels welcome! Join us for a 4-session campaign with DM Mark! Bring your own completed character sheet, or we will be happy to provide one. Registration is required and is for all 4 sessions, but feel free to join at any time. Subsequent meeting dates will be 3/26 & 4/9.
Three & Up Storytime: Every Tuesday through April 7, 10:30—11:15 a.m. Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor, 65 Main Street Join us Tuesday mornings for our preschool storytime for ages 3 and up. This fun program is full of interactive stories, rhymes, fingerplays, puppets, and songs. This storytime program, designed for children ages 3 to 6, promotes reading readiness and early literacy skills. Questions? Please email us at youthservices@westfordma.gov.

Time for Tots Storytime: Every Wednesday through April 8, 10:30—11:00 a.m. Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor, 65 Main Street Our Time for Tots Storytime is a 30-minute interactive story time experience for our young library users and their caregivers. Join us for stories, songs, movement, and puppets that are developmentally appropriate for children from 15 months to 3 years of age. Enjoy time together with fellow parents, caregivers, and little ones to learn, play and develop language, early literacy, and motor skills. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your toddler. This program is designed for little ones who are on the move. Questions? Please email us at youthservices@westfordma.gov.

Baby Lapsit: Every Thursday through April 9,10:30—11:00 a.m. Westford Recreation Department at Roudenbush Community Center – 3rd floor, 65 Main Street. Baby Lapsit is a 25-minute interactive story time experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. Join us for stories, songs, rhymes, puppets, and bounces that are developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they begin walking. This Lapsit program is just for you and the baby! Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers, and babies to learn, play, and develop language, early literacy, and motor skills. Come prepared to sit on the floor one-on-one with your baby in your lap. This program is designed for newborns through pre-walking babies. Questions? Please email us at youthservices@westfordma.gov.
