Long story short, I survived.

My dear subscribers, it is another weather-confused week here in Westford, and I’m gifting you with yet another brilliant, magical edition of Word on the Street. This week’s column is going to be just like April showers, annoying but necessary, yet always delivers something so beautiful once it comes to an end.

As I have mentioned infinite times before, this column is where I dish out the hot topics, things I deem important (hehe), and events trending around town and beyond. Hi, and welcome to my new readers. If there is ever something you would like to see covered, email me at lhanrahan@westfordcat.org. (Sidenote. I do not share my email to be polite. I am a professional talker. PLEASE send me your thoughts, opinions, and ideas. I would love to hear them.) Fair warning. I call Taylor Swift, dropping the Elizabeth Taylor music video, which was an homage to some of her brilliant films, a groundbreaking news story.

I hope your Easter celebrations are all that you need them to be, filled with loved ones, egg hunts, religious services, sweet treats, honey-baked ham, and brightly colored decorated eggshells with that familiar scent of vinegar.

I wanted to switch up the narrative of the column for a second to talk one-on-one with someone who reads my column every week and never fails to text me about it.

She will send me sweet anecdotes about what I have sassily typed onto the keys and bravely passed on to the print version. This person is Joanne Dennison—a very special woman who, without you all, would not be reading this chaotic column. Joanne has been an advocate for me since day one. When I was graciously gifted her email address, I  proceeded to message her within three minutes of receiving it. Thankfully, I made the right impression and did not give off the “I’m a complete stalker, watch out” kind of vibe. Joanne has supported my career, helped me network, offered me work, encouraged me to make bold moves and career shifts, and has been like another maternal figure in my life. I sit here in my cube, with the nickname Miss Lindsey CAT, thankful to know someone who not only knows me but also my story. Joanne, this is for you, this edition. I love and thank you for this. You are a beautiful force, and I thank my lucky stars that I know you. (P.S. Sorry you found out about my boyfriend through this … I totally meant to call you)

If it wasn’t clear, I am capable of being a caring, wholesome, and benevolent … WHEN I want to be, and for the right people!

May I direct your attention to the opening line? To avoid future confusion or help those who lack imagination, I offer some clarity. Each week, I choose lyrics from a Taylor song that I feel really sets the intention for the week, or represents the mood of the column, or me.

Some other things to keep on your radar, if you are big coffee drinkers, and you happen to love the flavor of banana, as I do, Dunkin’ has put its entire magic spellbook and then some into this new banana syrup. I highly recommend it. I average about three a week, and I have NO shame admitting that. It’s creamy, sweet, and blends all the good vibes of spring right to the tip of your tongue.

Sunshine, rain showers, tulips, green grass, landscaping, hopscotch, I could go on and on. This season brings so much promise, so much renewal, and resetting.

What do you want to accomplish this season?  What do you look forward to the most this spring?

It’s the season of hot girl walks, and the Stony Brook Middle School track is calling my name loud and clear.

Oh ya, and I’m no longer a fan of Taylor Swift.

APRIL FOOLS!!! (better late than never)

Toodles!
