It’s true! Newspapers really do want your news. Clubs, committees, entrepreneurs, artists, musicians, writers, and others that want to increase sales, membership, or community awareness, might benefit from this 90-minute Community Journalism Workshop presented by WestfordCAT, at the studio, on Tuesday, September 15 from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Participants will learn how to:
- Determine what newspapers want – and when
- Create and fund positive publicity events; build and use a database
- Prepare and submit press releases and photos
- Design a brochure, host a podcast, develop and produce a TV show
- And much more!
Fee ($75/$78 for non-Westford residents) includes press release checklists and more. The first eight to register will receive a 35-page Do-It-Yourself Publicity Kit full of tips, techniques, ideas, and fill-in-the-blank press releases.
Instructor Kathleen Veth is a UPI Award-winning journalist, a former editor of The Chelmsford Independent, longtime Westford Eagle reporter and current Managing Editor of The Westford Villager. She is also author of the Do-It-Yourself Publicity Kit.
