WESTFORD — Town Hall employees gathered in the Meeting Room on Thursday, Oct. 15 to test the Town’s voting machines.

The 9 a.m. tests were conducted to ensure the functionality of the machines in anticipation of the upcoming state and midterm elections, to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3. The meeting was open to the public for its full duration.

To test the machines, test ballots were filled out with every possible combination of voting selection, and were run through each machine. At the end, each machine produced a tape which counted the total votes. Town officials then compared the counts presented on the tapes with counts represented by the test ballots they had entered to ensure accurate results The tests were completed as planned, with all machines performing accurately.
