ART CONTEST–Stronger Together: Art for Democracy

February 16 @ 12:00 am - April 10 @ 11:59 pm
no cost to enter

Artists of all ages are invited to enter the Stronger Together: Art for Democracy competition, with cash prizes and no entry fee. Two-dimensional art will be accepted until April 10, 2026.
Art is a powerful tool for social change. Unbound by age, culture or social location, it sparks the imagination and promotes meaningful dialogue. With the goal of encouraging civic engagement, artists across New England are invited to submit works on the theme of protecting and strengthening American democracy. Successful entries will express the goals of promoting unity and the common good, which underscores the American ideals that all voices are important and that our strength lies in welcoming diverse perspectives.

Prize money of $1000 will be shared in youth and adult categories. Enter by submitting photographs of the completed two dimensional work from February 16 until April 10, 2026. Works will be judged on artistic merit and how well they convey the theme of promoting democracy. Additional exhibitions at the Fitchburg Art Museum Community Gallery, Westford Parish Center for the Arts, Reuben Hoar Library in Littleton, and Muffins on Main in Westford.

The goal of the contest is to spur productive dialogue; showcase the work of New England artists and celebrate democracy. The contest is sponsored and supported by the Reclaiming Our Democracy Taskforce of First Church Unitarian, Littleton; League of Women Voters of Westford; Littleton Cultural Council; Westford Cultural Council, and private donors.
