The Bruins Street Brigade’s mission is to bring hockey and skating development to the girls and boys from the Westford, Littleton and surrounding communities. The event led by Mike Dargin of the Boston Bruins youth development team who is from Littleton and also played for Nashoba Hockey throughout his childhood. The event gave Nashoba children a safe and fun environment to develop their hockey and team playing skills. There were many street hockey games and prizes that delighted the children who attended. The hockey clinic was led by local Bruins hockey hero Thomas Songin, a Norwood native who played alongside Ray Bourque during his rookie years for the Bruins. The event was organized by Jannelle Cioffi with help from all of the Board Members of Nashoba Youth Hockey Association and coaches.

Abbot School Principal Vito Umbro and Superintendent Bill Olsen were present to receive a very generous gift – an authenticated autographed hockey stick by the 2014-1015 Boston Bruins Team.

In addition to the street hockey clinic at the event, The Nashoba Youth Hockey organization provided an equipment swap, in which they donated youth hockey skates, helmets, and other equipment to the boys and girls for their LEARN to PLAY HOCKEY and LEARN to SKATE programs. These programs are started this past weekend but have continuous enrollment throughout the 10 weeks for this session and a second session in January.
