This sparkling musical is based on the enduring story of Anne Shirley, a young orphan girl, age 11, whom Mark Twain called “the most delightful child of fiction since the immortal Alice.” Anne is mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister who have a farm on Prince Edward Island and who had intended to adopt a boy to help them on their farm. Through its charming story and lively songs, the musical recounts how Anne makes her way with the Cuthberts, in school and within the town. This humorous and heartwarming rendition of the classic story, Anne of Green Gables is an ideal family musical.
“Anne of Green Gables the Musical” is proudly presented by the hardworking students of Blanchard Theatre Arts, now in its sixth season.
