Some general parade guidelines to keep in mind:

Peanut & candy etiquette

The Apple Blossom parade is a great way to celebrate; we ask you to help us keep everyone safe.  If you are using a vehicle, keep a spotter in sight.  If you are sharing candy with parade watchers, please instruct your crew to use care and in particular we ask you to not include candy with nuts such as; Reese’s Pieces; Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups; Peanut M&Ms; Almond Joy; Butterfingers or Snickers and the like, as they can cause allergic reaction for some of our guests.

Parade kicks off at 10:00AM sharp rain or shine from Main St. at Graniteville Rd. to Depot Rd. to the Abbot School Upper Field

At 8:30AM Groups should gather from Main St at Graniteville Rd to Forge Village at Flagg Road  or Randolph Circle

Main St. will be ONE WAY from Flagg Rd. to Graniteville Rd. 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM Sat. morning. Please don’t drop off anyone at the top of Graniteville Rd. The drop off points will be along Main Street at Flagg Rd or Randolph Circle. This section will become open for parade participants only from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.

Convertibles are to stage along Randolph Circle. Queen Contestants please gather at Randolph Circle and proceed to convertibles at 9:50 AM (after the road has been closed off for the parade start)

Graniteville Rd. is to be kept open to allow traffic to flow away from the center and will become a ONE WAY from the Main Street heading towards Coldspring Road from 8:30 AM – 10:00AM Sat. morning.

Detours to allow the parade to pass through the center of town will take place at 9:45 AM. Sat. morning on Boston Rd at Hildreth St, Main at Flagg Rd, Graniteville Rd at Cold Spring Rd,, Beaver Dam Rd at Depot Rd, Main Street at Leland Rd and Depot Rd at Cummings Rd

At the end of the parade please continue with your groups beyond the entrance to Abbot School to eliminate congestion

There will be no parking on either side of the streets along the parade route or the entrance to the Abbot School in front of the gymnasium

In order to accommodate all the floats there will be no parking at the Abbot School front turn around driveway/entrance until after the parade

Apple Blossom festivities will be conducted inside the Abbot School Gymnasium. Convertibles are to park in front of the entrance to the Gym to allow contestants easy access for contestants

If any Public Safety vehicle that is participating in the parade needs to respond to an emergency Please have your entire group move to the right side of the street to allow them to pass.
