Tuesday Afternoon Tornado Watch Issued For Westford

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for northeastern Worcester County and North Central Middlesex County at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

This alert is in effect until 2:30 p.m., the National Weather Service is advising residents to take shelter in a basement or interior room within the lowest floor of a building away from windows.

If inside a vehicle or mobile home, leave immediately and avoid heading outside to protect from potential debris.

UPDATE: The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for Middlesex County and other nearby areas to last until 4:45 p.m.
