In August and September, Westford’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.6 percent, a slight improvement from July figures.

The figures, released by the State of Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, also indicated a fair decrease in the town’s unemployment rate from September 2014.

Westford’s labor force in September was reported at 11,748.

The unemployment rates of Westford’s neighbors were comparable, with Chelmsford, Acton, Groton, Littleton and Carlisle coming in below 4 percent and Tyngsborough reporting exactly 4 percent.

September’s statewide average for the state was 4.5 percent.

The highest unemployment rate in the state came from Provincetown (11.1 percent) and the lowest unemployment rate in the state was in Egremont (2.6 percent).
