Westford’s Unemployment Rate Holds Steady

The State of Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development recently announced that Westford’s unemployment rate remained at 4 percent in July.

However, Westford’s July 2015 figure marked a nearly 1 percent decrease from July 2014.

In total, the town’s labor force shrunk by 118 people, with employment and unemployment figures slightly lower than in June.

Massachusetts State SealAgain, Westford mirrored statewide trends, with Massachusetts as a whole keeping steady at 4.9 percent.

Westford’s neighbors ranged from 3.6 pecent (Groton) to 4.3 percent (Chelmsford).

Statewide, Nantucket had the lowest unemployment rate in July at 2.5 percent while Provincetown’s 12.1 percent unemployment rate was the highest in Massachusetts.
