Tall Ships and Pirate Tales with the Sciencetellers: Thursday, July 6 at 1 p.m. Set sail on a thrilling action-packed adventure about a crew of quirky pirates marooned on a desert island. With mutiny and high-tide looming, they must rescue their salty captain and find a way to construct a ship before all hope is lost … at sea! Volunteers from the audience will help explore the incredible science behind clouds, combustion, air pressure, scientific variables and more! Tickets ($2.00) for children and adults are available by phone or in person. This program is for ages 5 and up. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for funding this program.
The Friends of the J. V. Fletcher Library Sponsor Yo-Yo-Guy: Monday, July 10 at 11 a.m. World Champion and four time Guinness World record holder John Higby will be here to present his unique high energy comedy yo-yo show. Giggles abound as the Yo-Yo-Guy will amaze and delight when his yo-yo dances through the air. Sign up early to enjoy this lively show. Tickets are $2.00 for children and adults and are available by phone or in person. This program is for ages 4 and up.
Teen & Tween Henna & Spa: Monday, July 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Learn and grow during this fun filled event. Create your own spa treatments and then get an intricate Henna/ Mehndi design on your hand from local Henna artist, Shweta Tekade. Teen & Tween Baby Animal Farm: Monday, July 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cuddle up with sweet baby farm animals when Animal Craze petting zoo comes to the J.V. Fletcher Library. A great program for both big and little kids, everyone will have a chance to spend time with these babies. This program is held rain or shine. Registration is required either by phone or online.
Teen & Tween Mixed Media: Thursday, July 13 from 2 to 3 p.m. Use your creativity, a little drawing ability and imagination to take a magical media tour to Paris, France. Whether you have an artist’s eye or love exploring different cultures, this program will truly be enjoyable.
