Story Time and Book Club Online Registration: Monday, Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. Although you can always stop by and register in person, online registration for these popular programs starts Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. On Tuesday, September 12 at 10 a.m. (978-399-2302) you are welcome to register by telephone. Book clubs are for grades Kindergarten through grade 5 and meet once a month from 4 to 4:45 p.m. The Mini Masters Art Book Club is for children in grades 3, 4, and 5 and meets one Thursday afternoon a month. The new Non-Fiction Book Club is for kids in grades 3 and 4 and meets once a month on Monday afternoon
Preschool Concert with “Toddlerbilly” musician Matt Heaton: Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m. Now that the kids are back in school, bring the little ones by for fantastic songs for all ages. Matt’s songs are a mix of rockabilly, surf, American roots and Irish traditional music, delivered with a wry sense of humor and a sincere sense of fun Bring a blanket and a picnic and enjoy the fun on the back lawn by the parking lot. (If it rains, please eat before you come. The concert will be held in the Meeting Room.) All ages.
“India Through Literature Series” with Professor Bruce Browne. Books provide an interesting and direct way to experience a culture; our fall book series on India presents a variety of perspectives on a complex country. All book discussions will be augmented with music and film clips that touch on themes of the text. The following are the dates of the Programs and the books that will be discussed: Monday, Sept. 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m. “The Space Between Us” by Thrity Umrigar; Monday, Oct. 16, 1 to 2:30 p.m. “The Inheritance of Loss” by Kiran Desai; Monday, Nov. 20, 1 to 2:30 p.m. “Sideways on a Scooter” by Miranda Kennedy and Monday, Dec. 18, 1 to 2:30 p.m. “Indian Summer: the Secret History of the End of an Empire” by Alex von Tunzelmann. Copies of the current selection will be available for checkout at Main Desk in advance of each program. No registration required.
