AÂ Dollar Tree store has opened its doors in Westford.
The 14,352 square-foot retail space is located at 1 Carlisle Road, taking over the building once occupied by a Rite Aid drugstore.

Loreal Harrington of Chelmsford was shopping inside the store on Nov. 30.
“I’ts good,” she said of the discount retail outlet. “It’s clean, it’s big, it’s better than the other ones. I think it’s a step up.”
Dollar Tree stores total 13,600 across 48 states and 5 Canadian provinces.

“Dollar Tree continues to grow and we are proud to be part of the Westford community,” said spokesman Kayleigh Painter.
The store has a culture of selling products for $1 or less — a strategy that seems to work. In March 1995 when the company went public on the NASDAQ exchange, its stock price was $15 a share. As of the close on Nov. 30, it was $86.77 a share.
Meanwhile, Rite Aid Corporation of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania completed the transfer in March of all 1,932 stores to Walgreens Boots Alliance, Incorporated. The Alliance is a holding company located in Deerfield, Illinois that owns Walgreens and a number of pharmaceutical manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution companies.
