Hundreds of prospective students, families and community members walked the halls of Nashoba Valley Technical High School during its recent annual Open House.
The event presented an opportunity to check out the school, its 20 technical programs, academic classrooms and Early Childhood Center, as well as learn about the programs in which students can participate, including Cooperative Education, which gives juniors and seniors an opportunity to work every other week in the field they are studying, and Dual Enrollment, which allows those same students to attend a partnering community college full time while still enrolled in high school.
Nashoba Tech offers the following technical programs: Advanced Manufacturing; Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing; Automotive Technology; Biotechnology; Carpentry & Cabinetmaking; Cosmetology; Culinary Arts; Dental Assisting; Design & Visual Communications; Early Childhood; Electrical Technology; Electronics/Robotics; Engineering Technology; Health Assisting; Hospitality Management; Marketing; Plumbing & Heating; Programming & Web Development; TV & Media Production/Theatre Arts; and Veterinary Assisting.
Nashoba Tech also has a Dance/Art Studio for students interested in taking classes in those areas; a full music program, with a band and chorus; and seven Advanced Placement courses. The school also has an in-school restaurant (The Elegant Chef), hair and nail salon (Cosmo Cuts), and store (Viking Village Mall), as well as a branch of The Lowell Five Bank and an ATM.
Those who were unable to attend Open House and would like to tour the campus can call 978-692-4711 to arrange a tour.
