BoH Ends Mask Mandate

On February 17th, 2022, The Westford Board of Health voted to lift the indoor town-wide mask mandate, effective immediately. Westford Schools will continue wearing masks through March 4th per the School Committee vote  taken on February 14th, 2022. 

  • The Board of Health continues to recommend staying home when you feel sick and practicing good hand hygiene.
  • Per the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, effective February 15, 2022: A fully vaccinated  individual should wear a mask indoors if you have a weakened immune system, or if you are at increased  risk for severe disease because of your age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in your  household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease or is unvaccinated. 
  • There are mask requirements that remain in certain locations of Massachusetts such as healthcare settings  and transportation. Please see the link below for the most up to date information.

  • The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) voted to extend the mask requirements  for schools in Massachusetts until February 28th, 2022. Please see the link below for the most up to date  information.

  • Federal Mask Requirements for transit: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has  announced a federal mask requirement for transit systems to mitigate the risk of COVID-19. The TSA has  extended the face mask requirement for all transportation networks, including public transportation,  through March 18, 2022.  
  • The Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has mask guidance and requirements for childcare settings. Please see the link below for the most up to date information.
